I couldn't agree more. I've been a life long Republican until this year (I'm 59). The Republican party has changed its values and trying to move to the middle. You will NEVER win elections until you go back to the basic conservative values. God/Country/Church. Any Republican that supports Pro Choice is not a Republican and should never be supported by the party like they did in the New York 23 race. She was a joke. Had they supported the conservative candidate instead, he'd probably have won and been in the house now instead of a disputed election. Shame on the party!
My wife has left he party and has reregistered as a Republican. I don't know how many times we written the RNC with no reply. You plan don't care about the members. You only care about yourselves and the elite just like the Democrats do. I hope Sara Palin Runs or Huckabee runs. Unfortunately Huckabee will probably run as a Republican.
Right now I see no leaders in the Republican Party----None. I've supported some candidates from my area for their races in the past from the Republican party, but they will NOT get any more money from me until I see conservative values in the party.
Frankly this country is too far down the path to bring it back. There's too much corruption. We'll never get term limits or we'll never get common sense from the Congress. So I'm one of the new apathetic people who will no longer support this party. I may support a Glen Beck or a Rush if they would run and they would get all I could legally contribute. Neither I'm sure would run as a Republican and I'm sure both are smart enough not to run. Frankly they are the only salvation this country has.

GOPAdmin_Alexa (10/17/2009) It is the new GOP.com - the site is new, the party is still the Grand Old Party.
Please show me where there is any evidence of this?

1) Does any body know what a Troll is? Everybody gets them on their sites, usually it's some liberal posing as a conservative who tries to stir up trouble. Most moderators, on most legitimate sites, DUMP them. I have several other sites I moderate, and this has nothing to with with freedom of speech. If you don't like what's hear go create you own site and say what every you want!
2) This new site is terrific! The old GOP site was useless, there was no interaction and I couldn't even find an email address to anybody other than the webmaster. There was nothing to bring me back to the old site.
And yes, Obama has a 3 year head start because he was young and savy with community building and social networking. He hired one of the top firms to develop his internet strategy, which has been exceptionally successful. It's about time we do the same thing, now is better than never! At lease we are making progress!
Now with this new interactive GOP site you have the opportunity to meet, support and interact in one of the most important sites for Republicans/Conservatives. Here you have the possibility that someone in the power base will hear new ideas and find out what people want. Here you have the opportunity to help build a stronger party. So look at this is a great start bu opening communications lines between party members and the GOP.
And Finally "MY SOAP BOX" ... Stop yelling at the Moderators! They don't run the GOP, they are team of professional tech guys (and maybe some women too?) putting together this site. They have nothing to do with your political view point or complaints as to how the GOP should be run. They may all be Republicans or little green men from planet X ... but they are here to help you,to figure bugs in the programs, support you with your problems in using the site and answer your questions. Sean Hannity and Glen Beck - are always reminding you to speak in a respectful manner to your liberal advesary, at least you could have the good sense to be respectful and appreciate the programmers, techies and moderators that are trying to accomplish a single and difficult task in putting together an interactive social network for the GOP!

When I got on this site I was floored. I thought I was on Disney’s website or something. This experience proves me right in my thinking that this Party cannot take a hint. The front page should start out with our Mission Statement; Contract with America 2.0, Our Principles that sort of thing. The mood of the country is coming our way and once again as with the presidential race we will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I don’t know about you, but everyone I talk with even those who call themselves liberals when asked do you believe in the constitution, liberty etc they say yes.
We will win people by strongly stating your case not pandering, oh my gosh.

| I am new to this whole political world, and I'm slightly confused at the difference between "conservative" and "Republican". Can someone enlighten me as to what's the difference? I thought the two went hand-in-hand...

| To be a conservative is to share a typical political view. To be a Republican is to belong to the political party. While Republicans are typically conservative, a Republican can be more moderate or less conservative. They can also be a Republican but have liberal views on specific topics.

Christy Parks (1/7/2010) I am new to this whole political world, and I'm slightly confused at the difference between "conservative" and "Republican". Can someone enlighten me as to what's the difference? I thought the two went hand-in-hand...
many people think that the two go hand-in-hand because "conservative" is a term of opprobrium used by liberal media apparatchiks to describe anybody that they don't like (or disagrees with them; the two are functionally equivalent). In practice, a definition for the term "Conservative" without the Liberal value judgment usually refers to a candidate's stance on social policies as the term "Fiscal Conservative" or "Libertarian" is used to describe people who believe in lower taxes and small government.
